mmm, i have been happy with my laptop until a month ago
first thing that happened was that when i started the computer it would have a kernel panic, called tech support, they had no idea what it was, told me to do an archive install, that worked, then i wiped the hard drive
2 days ago, starts up, chimes 6 times in a row, then boots up VERY slowly
i restart, doesn't do it, restart again later, does it
then i call my dear friends at apple, they not a clue, the tell me if it keeps up we will have to send it in for hardware repair

i don't do anything crazy to my laptop, a few games, a few text documents, thats all, that is a hardware problem (whats happening to me)

Yeah, it sounds like a hardware problem. Do you have any third party devices or hardware plugged in or installed? Maybe boot from the OSX discs holding D and run the Apple Hardware Test. :)

Download Cocktail and run all the main tests with it. It may just fix a few issues like it did with mine. I would have numerous Kernel Panics about 8 in a row and then very slow startups. I ran cocktail and so far no Kernel Panics, and it now only takes 15-20seconds to startup my macbook.
