MBA 1,1 w/ HDD -> Upgradeable to SSD?

Hi,

Can you swap the HDD for an SSD on a MacBookAir1,1? The 4200rpm is really slow. Or at least a 7200rpm? Only information I can find out there is about the current model.

Yes you can. You need a 1.8in HDD/SSD with pata-zif.

Thank you. Searching 1.8" pat zif answered a lot of questions. Though, was unable to find any installation guides. Know of any by chance?

ifixit has some good guides. Apple has thier own manuals that are nicely detailed but that is only for mac techs sadly.

here's the hd replacement for macbook air gen 1. pictures and parts. It at least gets you to the hard-drive. The cable should be swap and pop the ssd in.
