I am thinking seriously about selling my iPad and buying an 11" MBA. I am a little concerned though about how I would set it up with iTunes. Right now I have a Mac mini and have a huge iTunes library setup on an external HDD. There is no way I could ever install all my files on the MBA. What I would like to do though is keep my iTunes files on my Mac mini but somehow link to them with the MBA. Specifically I would like to play videos on the Mac mini on the MBA. Is this possible? How are others handling large iTunes collections on your MBA?

You could use the "Share Library" feature:

What options free or otherwise are there to access your library remotely when you aren't on your home network?

I used homesharing to copy all my two-star rated or better songs over to the Air.

It's not all my music but its fine for the road, and when you're home you can just stream or use the other computer.
