So I've been wondering. Would an 11" ultimate MBA be powerful enough to do iPhone dev? Not like nova 2 kinda iPhone dev, but more beginner and a tad beyond. Or should I save up another $400 and buy the 13" ultimate? While I know that getting the 13" ultimate would be faster is it really worth it?

Well, you develop Apps, which run on the iPhone. So I think there should be no problem in developing and testing on a MBA.
And as we have seen the MBA can even handle big tasks like games, mathematical programmes etc.

I develop iPhone and iPad apps on an MBA 11 Ultimate. Works great.

Works even better when connected to a huge (27") display, which the MBA 11 can drive.

With Xcode, the Simulator and Safari running, less than 2 GB of memory are wired, so either 2 GB or 4 GB will probably work fine for now. I got the 4 GB as a bit of future insurance. You will most likely need more than 64 GB of SSD to fit all the dev tools, examples and documentation needed for iOS development, especially if you want room to download and install extra beta SDKs.

Oh cool thanks! Couldn't find that with search, but was just what I was looking for. Will for sure be getting a MacBook air ultimate now. Just not sure which size. Thanks again!

your welcome :)
i'd go with the 13" 4gig if its affordable for you. while the 11" is really 'cool' looking, with all the tools open it gets a bit cramped on the screen. i usually have the sdk tools open along with my graphics package, and when i tried the 11" at the apple store there was just too much shifting around. also, i couldn't afford a huge monitor to hook it up to, so the 13" worked better for me.

Pretty cool seeing a lot of developers and programmers choosing the MBA. Seeing that we can typical do our work from anywhere, now we really can. :D
