Iam trying to decide which MacBook air to get. I searched the forums and can't find an answer to this.

Has anyone used their 11in ultimates to play 1080p mkvs on a large hdtv?

I will be using a minidisplay to hdmi.

I am wondering how well it works.

Thanks

Playing thru Plex media player, no issues, trying to run a flash based vide in HD at true 1080 will drop lots of frames although for the most part smooth playback, noticeable however on a large screen. I have not run the machine more than various 5 min clips so not sure how heat will effect it over the course of a 2 hour movie.

** 11" 2gig version.

Did you use the latest flash player with hardware decoding support? I've heard that the 11" should be able to handle flash-based 1080p with the latest player, but can't confirm it since mine hasn't arrived yet.

Anyways, I've tried 1080p in Plex in the store - played very smooth, no frameskips at all (checked the infoscreen where every frameskip is registered).

Thanks for the information.

When I travel I like to hook my computer up to the tv. Now that the majority of the hotels that I stay have HDTV's it is easy for me to catch up on some of my tv collections.
