Like many I have been waiting for new MBPs and MBAs. Just checking my (NZ) local apple store site I noticed a change in MBA pricing.

Ordinarily the MBA starts at $2499 including taxes - hey its Kiwi dollars after all! Now however, on the front page for MBA I got this:
http://www.apple.com/nz/macbookair/
In case the URL changes it says starting at $2999 which is the current top price point for the Solid state 2.13GHz version.

This looks like a change to me but the underlying pages still have regular pricing on them. Could be something?? or nothing.

Interesting... in the US, it hasn't changed it. Any idea if it was always wrong or if this was definitely a recent change? Perhaps they're just carrying the high-end from now on?

I am a little past believing we're getting an update soon, but I really want to be completely wrong. I hope you're onto something.

The prices on the New Zealand Mac Pro page also don't match the prices in the New Zealand store. Check out the prices in the bottom left corner of this page ( http://www.apple.com/nz/macpro/ ) and then click the "Buy Now" link at the top - prices don't match

I'm pretty sure its a new change. My attention was immediately drawn to it with hopes up, I clicked through.... to find only the ashes of disappointment.

Kidding aside, it is uncharacteristically untidy for Apple to have conflicting pricing on their site, which is why it piqued my curiosity. The Mac Pro pricing is quite different, and not a potential mix up with existing pricing.

While it is rumored there is a update coming and no doubt there will be one, I believe it is not anytime soon. Reason for this is because it would not be a wise marketing move for Apple to release the iPad and the new updated MacBooks at the same time. I'm sure apple would not like anything to interfere with the ipdad's initial release sales.
