Does anybody have a laptop and a MBA?
I want to get an air, but just purchased a 15 MBP a few months ago..
I definitely want to sell my ipad for a 11 MBA, but do you guys find it completely pointless to have two laptops??
I cant justify purchasing a new MBA without selling my MBP and getting an imac... i feel that makes the most sense...

Im curious to hear, if you guys have a similar story, and what you guys ended up doing...

thanks:apple::apple:

I have a 15" MBP i7 that serves as my primary power "desktop" at the moment as well as an MBA 11.4 "Ultimate" that is my travel computer. There may be some situations where I will need more processing power while at certain client events and it's good to know that I have that option with my MBP. I wouldn't have that option with an iMac.

Selling MBP. Have only the 11" MBA. Its faster than my MBP for most activities, slower only for those I'd run overnight anyway. I can't stand the thought of having multiple machines and having to worry about whats where.

I had the 15" hi-res i7 w/8GB of ram + Intel G2 ssd, and I sold it for a 13" MBA and have not looked back.

Wow, I don't think I'd have done that unless I realized I had over-spec'd my 15" purchase hugely.

It was a GREAT machine, but apart from the higher resolution screen, my current MBA handles everything I did before just fine.

There are a total 6 laptops in this house that my gf and I both use.

1-Dell E6500
1-Dell E6400
2-Dell Mini 10 (Hackintosh'ed)
1-MBP 7,1
1-MB 2,1

We use the Apples for home use. The dell latitudes are used for school purposes only. They won't let us use macs due to a supposed exploit found in respondus; not to mention the IT guys are Dell-certified technicians that fix anything and everything w/ the Dells. We use the mini 10's when we travel. 3 laptops/person may be a bit overkill, but they get used.

I use an MBP 17 and an MBA 13 as my primary machines now. The MBP 15 has been relegated to the kitchen countertop. But, yes, having more than one laptop may make sense depending on your portability needs.

Not to mention that if anything happens and you're in a pinch, they have great resale value LOL.

I have a 17" MBP as my "primary" machine, mainly because of the huge display. But my new MBA has been getting all the attention lately.

I'm debating between selling the MBP and replacing it with a 27" iMac, or just keep it. I dunno. I would love the even larger screen on the iMac, and the ability to have quad cores and 16 gig of RAM, but since I live fulltime in an RV, I do a bit of traveling at times where I would have to run the generator to power an iMac, versus the battery in the MBP or MBA. I dunno, I'm still figuring it out. :)

Oh and I still have a Dell Inspiron 1520 (Core 2 Duo / 4 gig) in case I just HAVE to have a true Windows machine, such as for sending maps to one of my GPS units or accessing the datalogger for my wideband O2 sensor.
