Hi everybody,

just wanted to tell you, that my MBA's battery has been changed a week ago. The capacity of the battery varied betwenn 92 and 14%! Sometimes my battery lasted for only 20 minutes. Battery got exchanged at a german Apple service point. Now I'm starting over and hope that this wont happen again...

Cheers!

Maybe it's just me, but 80 cycles in just a few months seems like a lot. I've have just over 300 cycles in over 2 years and I use my computer quite a bit. 80 cycles in a couple months seems like a lot of battery usage, but that's still probably no excuse for erratic behavior and 14% life so quickly.

74 cycles in 3 months.

Yeah, it's way higher than my previous MacBook and MacBook Pro, but I'm using it on battery way more -- nearly every night I used it on my bed, until the battery goes down to 10% or so.

Previously, my 'books were used on a desktop fashion, always on the table with external display, keyboard and mouse.

It's natural trend for very light portables, people tend to raise mobile usage.

I got it yesterday and I can already see I'll never be plugged in. The plug just doesn't fit into the picture!
How do you check cycles? I'd like to keep track...

The easy way to check on your batteries is to click on the apple logo in the top left and go to About this Mac...then click the more info button. From that list pick the Power heading. Battery cycles will be listed at the bottom of the battery section.

4 months, 39 cycles, 98% health. Spends most of its time these days plugged in, but for the first three months I was going back and forth to school, so it spent all day unplugged. Several times I've worked on it all day, all the way to the point where the screen goes black. I've also noticed that the health will fluctuate from 99% all the way down to 96% from week to week.

Also, iStat gives me about "4:36 of life remaining" from a 96% charge (WiFi on).
