The harddrive of my late-2008 MBA is broken (again). This time I am out of warranty, since it is 2.5 yrs old.
I am currently thinking of the next steps I could do: One possibility is to give it to an Apple Store and pay for a replacement drive. Does anyone know how expensive this will be? Currently I have the stock 120GB drive inside.
Or I could buy any third party drive. I browsed through the forum and many people are praising Runcore SSD's. But to be honest, I dont want to spend so much money for an outdated Laptop. If there were cheap third party HDD's I probably would buy one of these. Unfortunately I could not find any by myself, since the special connector is not very wide spread.
Last possibility I could think of is to put it as broken on ebay.

Might not be a bad option if you want to upgrade to something new... wait a few days and the 2011s should be out too. At that point you probably can get a very nice bargain on a refurbished 2010, or buy the new ones.

Thanks for your suggestions, I just checked ebay and I will probably buy a new drive from there.
