I know it's a little early...well not a little, a lot. Anyways what are you all hoping/expecting for in the macbook air revision 2. I'm holding out for the 2nd revision due to the fact I rarely by anything 1st gen and the fact I still have to save some more $$. This will be my first mac but I do have a Dell PC so it will be a secondary computer. Again, just wondering what you are wanting/expecting for the 2nd revision and when it will come.

What I would hope for:
1) Larger and cheaper SSD disk.
2) Ability to add memory.
3) User replaceable battery.
4) Firewire, ethernet port, in addition to current USB.
5) Faster processor.
I'm not a huge fan of the model, but your first 3 are not ever going to happen in this machine. It's like saying you want a jet powered car that's fuel efficient. The last 2 are possible.
I think a larger SSD disk for better pricing per GB is very likely in the future and faster processor.
And embedded 3G I think has a possibility.
The ram thing and the removable battery are less likely.
I would be happy with a larger cheaper SSD disk and more connectivity. I could live with 2gb, or even if they increased the standard RAM to 4 GB. Why not a user replaceable battery? I think that would silence a lot of critics (me being one of them).
1. Yes, (assuming the MBA still exists) I expect to see 96 GB - 128 GB SSDs in one to two years.

5. Yes, this is a certainty. Expect a CPU upgrade to a Penryn based C2D in 6-9 months.

I agree, Apple is unlikely to change the form factor for a revision two. I would go with larger SSD (though 64gb is the limit today, there could be improvements, but a switch to SATA would probably be needed, along with the current SATA drive shrinking in physical size), I would say a jump in processor speed is not out of the question, improvements happen all the time. I don't think 3G is in the works, I don't think Jobs really liked being forced to team up with AT&T, it was more a marriage of convenience. AT&T was hurting enough to agree to many of Apple's terms, but we don't have bluetooth tethering yet, which is common on other carriers, but expressly against AT&T's terms of service. I think the inclusion of a 4 pin mini-firewire is possible, just to appease the "Where's the Firewire?" crowd.( they put FW800 in the Macbook Pro after they took it out, so change can happen) They will also probably do a BTO RAM option with 2Gb being the stock, but with a hefty price upgrade to 4Gb (all being soldered on). Other than that who knows what Apple will do, they are a very unpredictable (innovative) company.
By the time a a rev B comes around, of course there will be larger, cheaper SSD's. That's probably the main thing I'm waiting for. I don't need a new laptop now, anyway, but if the MBA gets more SSD space, I'll upgrade to that when I need a new computer.
I don't see the MBA getting any more connectivity unless the electronics inside it get shrunken even more. More connectivity would mean making it bigger, which I doubt Apple will do. That's fine by me; I don't need any more connectivity than what's on it. I think most people don't, except for the people around here, it seems.

The battery is already user replaceable... unless you don't know how to use a screw driver.

Ethernet not a chance. The whole thing about the MacBook Air is over the Air.
More for the buck yes, lower price, doubt it.
Yeah the 3G thing is just what I see happening because its inevitable with the iPhone and the MBA already shares some iPhone tech. More of a prediction than what is highly likely for rev 2. Could still be a year away if they want to introduce something that big further down the road.

I think you mean 2, 3, and 4.
Of course SSD will get cheaper and larger.
Apple will never add the ports in #4. They are moving away from them.
In order of importance:
If I get even half of the above, I will be a happy man.

I'd like to modify the battery power one:
7 hours with a movie running is better
7 hours with wireless on isn't too far from what I get, unless of course you say 7 hours HDD version, then that would make SSD version insanely amazing for battery power.
