So I've never owned a Mac before, and ordered the 27" quad core imac. The excitement for it to arrive is killing me, so I figured I needed something in the meantime.

I looked into a MBA as I figure it would be a great light compliment to the beast of a desktop. I live in Hong Kong and began looking for second-hand MBAs at some markets here.

I ended up picking one up on the weekend for about US$775. It's a Rev A, 80 Gig HD, 1.6 mgz core 2 duo.

I figure I don't need a lot of power on the notebook if everything will be stored on the iMac. The question is, is $775 a good deal? The MBA is practically brand new... not a scratch, dent, or mark anywhere on it. Seems to be working like a charm.

I sold my Rev A about a year ago for $850. That's a good price you got on the Air.

I actually had no problems with my Rev A (core shutdown, heat, fans, ect). Mine ran video just fine and was a joy to work with. I just needed a built in optical device for a few months so I went with the uMB when it first came out.

Enjoy your new toy :D

I bought my Rev. A 1.8 80gb six months ago for $730 on ebay, so yes it is a good deal, but deals like that can be had fairly frequently on the second-hand market.

Those prices are amazingly high for an original MBA. At least they held their own value after the initial drop, as the second year they almost lost no value where first year lost 65% from $3099 to $1299 and less with the lower priced MBA.
