MBA slows down when TM backing up to TC

My MBA (1.6/80) becomes almost unusable when TM is backing up larger files to TC wirelessly. The computer becomes very unresponsive and the cursor would behave erratically. Have others with the same setup experience similar slowdowns? The MBA is also connected to an ACD 20" in clamshell mode. Thanks.

I have noticed the same with my MB, also have a 24" display connected to it and it backs everything up to an external hard drive which is not a TC.

I have noticed the same with my MB, also have a 24" display connected to it and it backs everything up to an external hard drive which is not a TC.

The transfer - both physical from the disk and via the air (wireless) - is too slow.

As for the MB above, it is the speed of transfer - the processor is way faster but it had to wait for the disks to process.
