Downloaded Sierra (10.11.6) a week or two ago and for some reason I got a download notification last night to download again. Now I have an icon sitting on my launchpad to i guess download. Can I get rid of this, should i reinstall, if its a bad thing is there a way to delete from my launchpad.

MBAs been working fine so I'm not sure where this came from.

Thanks in advance.

Sierra is 10.12. If About This Mac shows as being 10.11.6, you're still on El Cap, so the update must have failed.

Otherwise if that updated fine, then no need to worry. Even when the OS has installed, it will keep the installer in the Applications folder. Somehow that must have got pinned to your Dock.

So feel free to unpin it from the dock. If you want to delete the installer, that won't do any damage. It'll be in your Applications folder, called something like "Install macOS Sierra".

Thank you, it just hadn't seen it on my launchpad before so I was suspicious.
