Been having a few huge issues with my new MBA 13".

#1 - Putting the laptop to sleep. I put the laptop to sleep and put it in the bag and at some point it wakes back up. If I don't remove it during the day by that afternoon/evening when I go to remove it the battery is at 0% and it's fully discharged. One day I took it out a couple hours in and the fan was blowing like mad like it had been running for a while, when I opened the lid I had a black screen and it was frozen. Disabled waked for network access but it was no help.

#2 - When the laptop goes in standby and I open it back up I get a beach ball forever - I've tried to let it go for upwards of 30 minutes and it never unfreezes, but I can move the mouse around. I ended up telling the laptop not to standby when it was plugged in to a power source otherwise I ended up always losing work.

This is my first Mac and I'm not impressed so far, but can understand it's new hardware. I went in to the Genius bar and their only solution was that a fix was probably going to come out soon, but they had no other ideas. I'm hoping someone here has a solution or something I can do/try.

do you have a bluetooth mouse?

if so its most likely waking it up in the bag.

other then that it must be a sensor problem in the lid.

No bluetooth mouse at all. I'm kind of wondering about the sensor problem in the lid myself. Tonight I'm going to unplug it, put it to sleep and leave it open all night. Ohh I also made sure the "Allow bluetooth devices to wake this computer" was unchecked. Even though I didn't have any bluetooth devices I just wanted to make sure.

Now the problem of trying to get them convinced that it's an issue at the Genius bar. :D

I didn't think it was any of the apps I was leaving running, but since they don't know much about the new MBA they seemed to want to blame that.
