Well i have an MBP and an MBA. Suits different purposes and not sure if it really will replace an MBP for my needs. Also it will not be my only notebook considering that i cannot resist the updates apple makes each year. I kind of feel lost out if I dont own the most recent thing. :D

I have another notebook. My macbook pro. I don't intend on getting rid of it since it is so future-proofed for my professional needs. It's ready to add in more ram and whatever neat new 2.5" harddrives or SSDs I'll see come in the future. As SSDs rapidly drop in price, over the next few years, I expect to not only put in a very large SSD in my MBP, but also see battery life possibly improve with that upgrade.

It may be left a bit in the dust for any chance to run some new hot game coming out in a couple of years. But it will be my heavy lifting workhorse for some time.

I'm getting the MBA for the little powerhouse, that I intend to use an (outside of iWork stuff) generally start projects on there, but continue to finish them on the MBP whenever I have time to transfer. The general SSD size limitations pretty much keep me working that way. But boy is it portable. You can hide it between pages in some books. (At least the 11" one)

I still have an MBP but my 13 inch Ultimate MBA has replaced if for most purposes. About all I use the MBP for these days is to copy CDs to iTunes. While iTunes is copying a CD to the iTunes folder, I use my MBA for other things while I am waiting for the copying to finish. I have really liked this combination far better than I did when I was using the MBP for both CD copying and other activities.

I sold off my 15" MBP and got the 13" MBA. I plan to get an iMac as well to compliment the MBA and have the power that my MBP had, but the Air will be great for taking with me. Powerful enough for everyday tasks, but has enough to run things like Photoshop and such if I need to on the go. Otherwise, the iMac will be the main 'power use' machine.

I use my 11 inch maxed out as only computer.
I attach it to my 72" projector.
I dont bother to use my pc with dual core 3.16 and 8 gig ram any more.
This machine is good enough for everything i do anyways.

Makes more sense to have an MBA and a desktop computer, which I'll be if I get off the snide.

Buying a MBA laptop while already owning a laptop doesn't really makes too much sense to me.
