12" Tablet. 12" Tablet.... maybe if I say it enough it will happen.
Modbook. With the ends cut off.

Not what I heard.
There will be an iPhone? :D

iW00t, don't jump to new releases. Always wait for Rev B or later. I learned my lesson with a 12" powerbook and a macbook pro CD. Hold back..
Rev A's fine with my mini.

well, that certainly seems reliable. :rolleyes:
More reliable than some "insiders" :p :D

Some people have had success with Rev A. I'm just sharing my issue. Not trying to sound like a bad guy. Thats why we come to these forums is for input.

Having gone through about 10 MBP 17" before returning it for a refund, I am hopeful that the announcement is for a new MBP design with new LCDs. Of course, this probably has the least chance of happening.

Why would anyone want to get a not yet tested, new, MBP. When all i ahve been hearing so far is how bad the current models perform.

i'm betting on iPhone this time.:p

My MBP doesn't perform bad at all. It stays cool, runs fast, and I have no problems with it. Ok, I agree that the LCD could be better, but if were to work on high end graphics or video, I would have the machine hookedup to a bigger LCD.

I think Apple did a great job with the MBP C2D.

I don't understand the emphatuation with the 12" notebooks... it is only 1.3" difference from what is currently available...

Now I'm down with the idea for an ultraportable but it seems like you would need to go to 11" or so to make it worth the difference.

some specs for the 12incher have been floating around for a little while now and some just seem a bit off yet I can somewhat see some of them comig true.

* "Macbook Thin" -- spec-wise, primarily a variant of the Pro family but will probably be branded as separate from the standard *or* Pro MacBook families. Shipping name is unconfirmed.
* 12-inch widescreen display, 1280x800 resolution.
* 2.16 or 2.33GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processors
* 1GB of DDR2-667 memory standard. Max. capacity 3GB.
* Standard "Pro" ports: USB2, Firewire 400 & 800, Gigabit Ethernet, Digital/Analog Audio minijack I/O ports.
* ExpressCard expansion slot (believed to be /34 type)
* Similar storage to "Pro": 2.5in SATA HDDs at 120GB & up, 'Combo' or 'Super' optical drive.
* ATi Radeon Mobility X1600 or nVIDIA GeForce GO 7600 graphics systems with 256MB of VRAM.
* Mini-DVI display connector with full second display capabilities
* Of course, Built-in iSight, stereo microphone, Airport Extreme and Bluetooth 2.0+EDR.
* Battery life is expected to be "best in class" at about 6.5 hours real-world, some reports have suggested up to 8 hours is possible.

the 2.33 is a bit much for such a small enclosure isn't it?

8 hours? A bit optimistic I think.

Though the others are bit more down to earth.

about 22 hours till we can know for sure

as for this instead of the iphone...I personally think it will the iphone instead of the 12 incher

I'm seeing alot of dreaming in those specs. Oh wait, maybe those are the real specs but instead of being cheaper then a MBP, they will be more expensive. We humans love our little toys, little cell phone, little fast cars, and now a little fast toaster I mean computer.

My sources don't know if there will be an iPhone, but are expecting a mini MacBook Pro. And Quad MacPros soon. Hopefully introed at MacWorld. Something really cool involving iSights and something involving 802.11n. There's some kind of media thingy, guessing it's the iTV and/or new iPod. Software wise, Leopard has a new look and some awesome features we haven't even thought about. iLife is updated. Nothing too fancy, but worth the upgrade. iWork, on the other hand, has been completely updated.

And the only prediction I actually stand behind... is that some of you will be very disappointed, while the rest of us will be happy with what we get because we have low expectations.

Hopefully your "sources" are good because in the event of no Apple Phone, everything you listed sounds great!

My "sources" are just guesses based on rumblings I've heard. Just vague enough to be close I think. Wouldn't that be cool if I was right though?

(had to include that disclaimer just in case I am right and Steve comes a knocking to destroy me)
