so i have a macbook pro 13" retina early 2015. today i woke up to find the screen was black with horizontal and vertical streaks of green going through it, unable to view anything(it was left on a table charging overnight, my only guess to why this happened is some sort of freak electrical short? or just the mac gods weren't happy with me today ). So i brought it to a pretty reputable repair shop (it's already out of warranty, and it's quite inconvenient to find an "official" apple store here in thailand) and he tried plugging it into an external display, it worked fine on that display. so from that the repair guy concluded the problem was my macbook's display, not the graphics card. So I let him replace the display, and payed that hefty price. Afterwards i brought it home and after only a few hours of use the display began showing lines of discoloration and flickering colors with any move of the mouse/things on screen. So i tried resetting nvram and smc, no luck. I then tried booting in safe made, and the display works beautifully! I've also found if i open youtube/netflix videos it works perfectly when those videos are open. The colors flickering isnt as bad as the original problem, but definitely not useable. Any advice/thoughts? The shop gave me a 2 month warranty on this display so i'm certainly going to go back and talk to them, but i'd sure like to hear some other opinions.
thanks so much!
