Hi all, I have a noticed a problem with my MBP 14 rendering some images on websites using Safari. Machine is the 10CPU, 16GPU, 16GB ram 1TB variant. Occasionally when visiting certain websites, the images will glitch heavily and not be visible (images attached). This doesn’t happen on all sites, and seems to happen predominantly on large hero images. Prior to this machine I had an M1 MacBook Air which I bought when they were realised in 2020. Never had a single issue with that machine (16GB ram, 1TB). Any ideas on what could be causing this? Is it a GPU Issue? and are any other MPB 14/16 user seeing problems like this? I’m running Montery.

Update: after further research this looks like it might be a Safari specific problem and not hardware related, have found other users having this problem on even Intel Macs using recent versions of Safari.

I have had this issue for several months on my 27" iMac 2015: always using latest Monterey and happened with Safari 15, 16, and 17. I have spoken with Apple Support on more than one occasion who insist it is a web site problem. It occurs with news sites (NYT WP CBC and others) but not non-news sites. Never happened on my 16" MBP 2019 when on Monterey or later - now on Ventura 13.5.1.

I don't have the same glitch as yours but mine random time some website just don't bother to load at all. I had to create a new tab load the same website.

Safari has been buggy since Ventura and I have clear and reset Safari a couple of time by removing plist etc.

In the end, I'm sticking to Firefox. I just miss the Apple ID login integration and better sync between my iPhone. Firefox on iOS UI is hard to use.

"I don't have the same glitch..." Yes, your situation with Safari is not at all like ours, but nevertheless, I'm sure it is just as frustrating.

For me, this issue predates Ventura, and my iMac is too old to run Ventura. I have even tried loading Safari 17.0, but the problem persists.

I'd love to hear why this issue occurs and whether there is anything that can be done.

Good job for talking to Apple about this. Despite what they say, it's definitely not a website problem. I mean, what a silly response really. Don't they recognise that if it was site specific, those sites/brands would be fixing the issue in a hot minute if it compromised potential sales and business? And how strange that all those sites exhibit the same issue. I mean, cmon Apple, it doesn't happen with other browsers.
