Hello,

seeking for a MBP 14“ 10/16/32GB/1TB config replacing a MBA M1 16GB/1TB (refurbished), checked out Apple Online (Austria) for both, Refurbished and New and it seems the price difference at apple.at is 39 EUR only (2.959 vs 2.998 EUR). I learned the refurbished quality from Apple with the MBA M1 (my first Mac!) seems to be awesome, but at that price difference, I guess new being the better option? The 32GB/1TB config should serve me for many years to come, if this makes a difference in terms of Refurbished vs. New decision.

Any thoughts?

Btw, many thanks for this awesome forum. Was a great source of information moving to my first Mac!

Thanks,
Thomas

I was faced with a similar situation a few years ago and went with the new one. Have always been more than happy with Apple Refurbs however, my 2018 Mini has been perfect and I push it very hard. I guess you need to decide how significant 39 Euros is in today's world. The other possible consideration is whether the refurb is ready to ship immediately vs having to wait awhile to get the new one.

€39 is €39 and it’s still a saving. I’d buy the refurb.

But that does seem low. The refurb price is generally 10% lower so double check the spec. Is it exactly the same?

Sorry folks. Yes, the spec is exactly the same, but for whatever reason, my Safari window has been in context of educational prices 😂. Without educational pricing, the price difference is higher 👍.

Sorry for the confusion and thanks for the heads-up.
