I'm soon going to give my boss my C2D 20" iMac to replace some G5 iMacs in the office, and she's buying me a personal 15" MBP in its place (thanks to the dozens of overtime hours I work every month unpaid since I'm salary), and I think I'll just have her order me a refurbed 2.4 15" MBP from the Apple store online since it's just a couple hundred more than a new 2.2. However, I've not yet seen any 2.4's in the refurb store since I started trying to keep track. How often are they in there? Has any anyone seen them lately at all? Have they been available frequently enough for me to expect to place this order within the next two weeks or so? I'm sure of you have tracked the refurb store more frequently or for a longer time than I've been, so I thought I'd ask the experts :)

There will be more refurbs in the next 2 weeks. Apple usually updates the refurbished site on Tuesdays from what I've noticed but that's neither exclusive nor is it a sure thing. Just keep checking the store.

The other really good deal is the refurbished 17" hi-res (it comes with the upgraded 7200rpm HDD). It's only $100 more than a new stock 2.4 15".

Check there often, they are snatched up quickly!

15" is definitely the way to go, and is easily paired w/a larger display for work. This is what I use daily (2.33 version).

The 15" 2.4's have been there fairly regularly with new inventory showing up daily, or so it seemed to me... Keep on watching, you'll get one. And that is a nice little payback for the overtime. :)

I usually check Wednesday mornings at around 6am Central time. I don't know if its luck, but every time I have checked around that time, I find a fresh batch of refurbs for sale.

Tuesday morning. Lo and behold, 2.4 15" MBP in the refurbished store. Go get yourself one.

@ japasneezemonk, Usually the store is updated on Tuesdays with enough stock to last a few days. They put up the refurbs when the have several units of one kind. Which is silly because they ought to leave the newest models up there constantly as they're always getting new refurbished stock. I'm sure it has something to do with selling something you don't have possession of but if Apple says it usually ships within 5-7 days and they get the stock in 5 days and ship it out 2 days later I don't really see the harm in doing it that way.

Sure enough! I saw that earlier and meant to post too... I really like the refurb discounted prices!:D

I noticed it earlier today and have already hinted to my boss that my desired laptop is now available in the refurb store for a great price :) But she didn't fall for it just yet. It may be another week before she gives me the credit card and tells me to order it, so I hope they're still around.

Just be patient. If anything, this should be enough to show you that Apple updates the store with new(-ish) stock and that when your boss says go, chances are it won't be too long before one comes available. :)
