MBP 15.4" Temp / Core Duo Temp

hi, from the previous threads i have read and talked about previously, I realize these machines get really warm. But is there a degree that it will be too warm that i need to be concerned?

even when i am not working the machine hard, the temperature easily goes up to 73 degrees C (~160 degrees F).

I am using the core duo temp to monitor the warmth as some of you suggested some time ago.

** Please let me know, if there are any possible problems when the machine gets hot. At what degree should i be concerned about the warmth of the machine. ?? **

The warmth as in many other machines I read is easily felt (unpleasantly) while typing on and around the keyboard but more higly on the left hand speakers.

Thats probably a little high. Try putting it under 100% CPU and see how high it gets.

when put under 100% eg: palying games through rosseta , mine can get to 80-90 c

but if it just browsing using firefox and listended to itunes mine is only about 45-55 c

mine is MBP 2.0Ghz

try downloading and installing the firmware upgrade specifically for 15 inch MBPs (on apple.com). it is supposed to control the fans better. i dunno...i'm not a techno wiz but my colleague did it and his MBP is definitely cooler. good luck.

Thanks. I will try to work the CPU 100. I do not have much applications to do so. the machine runs when almost all the possible applications are open less than 100 CPU. DVD, itunes, all office etc are open and some other things i found in the application. the temp ranges between 67-73 so far.

** would you please very specifically direct me where to find the firmware you suggested to download to cool down the computer on the apple site **

I am using Mac os x version 10.4.6/ processor 2 GHz intel core duo / 1 GB DDR2 SDRAM. MBP 15.4"
