Hello everyone!
I am looking for some advices about getting a used MacBook.

MBP 16 2019 and MBA M1/M2 (probably) 8/512 is the closest options that fits into current budged. Also, these two options will get macOS 14 and 15, that is important for me.
I need a laptop and actual macOS to work with Xcode and VStudio (.NET).

I have read a lot about MBP 16 2019, and I find this option fine, it has a large screen to work with, 4-5h of work without charging. Only one complain I see a lot: heating problem. There are so many rumours about it like: connect second screen - overheat, launch google chrome - overheat, and ect. Actually, I can not believe that is so actually bad. That's why I am here. Please, tell if it so. I guess, I can go with i7+32gb of Ram.

MBA M2 8/512 looks well, but small screen, I guess, will ruin all expectations about comfortable dev working, 'case I've been working always with 15' displays.

Any suggestions?

P.S.: I am working right now on MBP 15 Mid 2012, so both variants will be huge jump for my dev experience :)

If you plan to use Brew package manager or Docker images in any way, go with the Intel MBP 16. While M-series support for Brew packages and Docker is getting better quickly, using these tools in a development tool chain will be less of a headache on the Intel MBP.

Do I understand correctly, that MBA with this specs will be enough for some pet projects in Xcode?
