Hello!

I hate warm/hot solutions that makes the fan-speed go crazy.

What is the coolest specs to choose if you buy the new Macbook Pro 16" 2022?

Harddisk, is 512GB SSD cooler over 1TB SSD?
Will 32GB RAM make the system cooler than 16GB ram?
Is M1 MAX a cooler system than M1 PRO? (If it is stronger, it maybe dont need to work 100%)

I wish we had a 16" fanless solution.

Thank you for help!
(I am almost sitting with F22 aircraft ear protection right now. on m MBP 15" 2014.)

I don't think RAM is going to make a difference in fan noise. I've seen a few reviews that said the Max ran hotter on full load but that's not really surprising. Unless you're continuously doing something very CPU intensive then I don't think you'll hear much fan noise. The Apple Silicon models run cooler under most workloads but if you're doing something really heavy it has to cool or throttle down. What are you doing with your 2014 Mac to make the fans ramp up?

I have 4 different Chrome installations with maybe total of 60-80 tabs open.
I work in a different way where i let all the tabs stay open, so i can just return to them when needed.

Google chrome stable
Google chrome beta
Google chrome canary
Google chrome dev

Feels like i should take 32GB instead of 16GB ram, i mean using the ssd as memory should be hotter then using extra ram?

What do you guys think? Thank you

For having that many chrome tabs open you need the RAM. It will keep more things opened so when you change tabs less of them have to reload

Perhaps someone here has one and can comment about fan noise but I don’t suspect Chrome would push the CPU hard enough for the fans to wind up

You are such a nice person for helping me out with this.

Right now I think M1 pro + 32GB + 512GB ssd is the best solution for me I mean to choose the coldest system available for me.
