In my head.
Hi, just got my brand new MBP 16 M1 Pro and noticed one annoyance. Mainly, when I try to connect to my iPhones hotspot I cannot connect. MBP sees the hotspot but for some reason I am getting "Failed to enable Personal Hotspot" message. I am running lates 12.01 OS and iOS 15.1.1 on iPhone 12.

My wife's MBA M1 running Big Sur can connect and disconnect without any issues. What's even weirder is that when I disable Wifi MBP can see the hotspot name etc. After multiple enable/disable Wifi on MBP and iPhone I can managed to connect to hotspot, but once I disconnect I am unable to connect again.

MBP connects to other wifies, and android hotspots without any problems. iPhones very one hotspot seems to the problem.

Has anyone of you experienced any thing like this? Any solutions? Or 12.1 is the only possible cure?

Thanks!

Mina can connect but randomly loose the connection all the time, so only way that works for me is connect the iphone with the usbc cable..
think it will get fixed in software updates later

Same problem here, with M1 Pro 16" and iPhone X. No issues with hotspot on this iPhone with other devices; no issues with other wifi networks on this Macbook.

Reset all network settings on Mac and iPhone.
My MBA M1 connects to ProMax 13 hotspot in no time. Also, update both if necessary.

But I am running all the latest versions. I guess it is more of a MBP M1 Pro related issue. As I said, my wife's MBA M1 connects to the same hotspot, no problems.

So did you reset network settings on both devices?

I had the failed to enable personal hotspot as well.
M1 Pro + iphone 13 Pro.
I resetted Network Settings in both devices and it worked perfectly since then
For M1 Pro : Go to Preferences / Network / Remove Wifi then re-add it.
For iPhone : Reset network setting in general settings.
I hope it will work and that helped you out.

Is Hotspot enabled on your phone? Sometimes that affects, oddly enough.
