Hello everybody.
I have a MacBook Pro 17" 2011 with the GPU mod and Montrey installed with OCLP. (Using this setup from one year).
Today i was following a tutorial to install AutoCad, after install all the packages i try to open AutoCad but i get a message saying the resource was in use or read only.
So i try to restart my Mac, he turn on but i don't have image at all.
I try to reset pram, SMC, disconnect battery, remove the RAM and also boot on user single mode. But still no image, not even at boot, looks like the LCD it's disconnect (obviously is not).
Also with HDD disconnected the screen it's black all the time.
What may have happened?
Thanks

I don’t know exactly what is happening here, it’s been a while, but just to give you something till a better-informed response… My MBP 17” 2011 GPU failed a couple of times and APPLE replaced the whole logic board. The 3rd and last time it was 2-months out of the replacement program with no fix available. The 2011 GPU problem is notorious, they basically ALL fail. The failure of the GPU and no start-up were sudden, and if I remember right the same as what you are describing. The only suggestion is to try starting up from an external drive with system OS and doing a Disk Utility repair and see if anything happens.

I don't know if the cause is AMD GPU. Today I got a black screen on my Macbook Pro Late 2011 with AMD GPU disabled (was running on Intel i7 integrated GPU Intel HD3000). In my case, this symptom appeared after resetting the PRAM.
