Hi

I am looking to buy a 17 inch laptop..The two options are MBP 17 inch or the sony Viao 17 inch AR series . the one with blue ray.. Price is not an issue

The laptop is mainly for gaming. and checking mails.

Another thing if u guys feel that MBP is better, CAn i play windows based games in it after loading windows XP on it..

Thanks

Better just get a new AR (whenver Sony will update them) since DX10 is pretty important in most new PC games...

Mac have never distinguished for being good at playing the newest games at top performance.

It seems the Vaio has a better graphics card. Not sure how much better.

But I would recommend the MBP since it also can play most of the games (if not all) at good performance and it can also play all the Windows games if you have Bootcamp.

If you are a serious gamer, and want the best of the best. I would recommend a desktop PC. If not, I'll recommend you the MBP.

uh neither is good for gaming. If you're going to buy a laptop mainly for gaming then go with the Dell XPS ones, but if that's too much then go with those Asus gaming laptops. It also really depends on the games you play. Don't expect to play the newest games smoothly with the mbp or the sony. You can easily build $1200 Duo Core PC w/ the latest 8800GTS 320MB.
