but you can get the MBP 2.2ghz at the US apple store for $1800 with the edu discount, so you save like $20...its not that much, or am i missing something?

I think he means...should you get the 2.2 or 2.4.

I'd say go for the 2.2. For $500 more you get .2 worth of processing, 40 more GB or hard drive space, and the 256 video card.

For most people, that is not worth it.

There is not much different in performance when comparing 128 and 26 MB video card... 40 GB is nothing, just plug in external HD for your 'digital junk' and I definitely sure you will not notice 0.2 GHz processing speed difference
