Hi guys.
I just replaced my ageing MBP 2009 17" battery and first it seems to work just well.
It is a 3rd party A1309 / A1297 type.
Replacement was easy with the iFixit guide.
The side power tester showed 4 dots.
Booted. All good. Systems said 72% charge.
Cycle Count: 1
Health 100%
Condition: Normal
Design Capacity: 13598 mAh
Full Charge Capacity: 32768 mAH
Manufacture Date: 16-jan-2017
Voltage 7883 mV
Amperage -6388 mA
Pluged the power adaptor in and let it charge for ~ 1,5 hours.
- Then I remembered something about resetting the SMC. Which I found the guide to online and did.
Now after resetting SMC, it says:
Cycle Count: 32768(!!!)
Heatlh: 100%
Condition: Normal
Design Capacity: 0 mAh
Full Charge Capacity: 32768 mAH
Manufacture Date: 30-nov-1979
Voltage 32768 mV
Amperage 0 mA
- I also tried to reset PRAM. No change.
The side power tester shows a single blinking dot.
- MBP is unable to power on now, without the power adapter. This is after the reset SMC. It is not possible to drain the batteri this quick.
How did this just happen???? :-( - and can it be fixed????
