Hello All,
My Late 2012 MBP (Catalina 10.15.7) has developed a strange power on issue.
1. On battery (fully charged according to battery check button) it will not switch on.
2. When charger connected (LED amber for 20 seconds then green) it will not power on.
3. With charger connected, SMC reset key combination causes it to power on and boot normally.
4. After step 3, it will power on normally on battery or charger, and shut down etc for about 1 hour.
5. After being powered off for about an hour it will not power on, either on battery or charger and I am back to step 1.
I have tried multiple SMC and PRAM resets to no avail.
I have tried disconnecting the battery and doing SMC reset to no avail.
Has anyone any bright ideas please.
