Hello,

I've just installed a new battery on my old macbook pro (early 2015 intel based). I had done this once before with no issues so I felt confident, but this time it did not go as planned.

The computer now only works when the charger is plugged in. As soon as it's unplugged, it shuts down immediately.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Is it a faulty battery or have I messed something up?

I've attached screenshots of System Report > Power > Battery Information.
What stood out to me is that for "Charging" and "Fully charged" it says No for both. While the laptop is plugged in and battery status at the top says 100%. Also on the magsafe connector, the green light is on.

The only thing I have tried so far is SMC reset but that did nothing.

This was not an issue prior to replacing the battery. The old battery started to die at around 60% hence I decided to replace it but other than that it was working normally.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you :)

It could be the battery but you won't know for sure until you try another battery or try the existing battery in another MacBook.

Where did you get the battery?

Have you run a system diagnostics test by holding down the "D" key when booting?

Never mind guys, the fault was all mine. The battery connector wasn't properly pushed into the motherboard. I pushed it in and now all is working perfectly. Thanks Audit for your comment :)
