Hi folks

I am having several of these panic restarts every now and then. Nothing new happened or changed but it just kept restarting itself after momentary freeze (noticed the processing slowed down prior to freeze and subsequent restart). The error log is attached below. Appreciate if anyone could help me understand the root cause. Thank you so much.

Most KPs are from one of two things:
  • Bad RAM
  • 3rd party Kernel Extensions (kext)
One thing you can do to test and see if it is caused by 3rd party software is to boot in Safe Mode. This will disable all 3rd party software and kexts when you boot. No more panics = 3rd party software/kext is to blame.

Third-party kexts are typically installed here: Macintosh/Library/Extensions

Thanks, I will try this. But what if there is still panic? This would mean it is due to bad RAM?

If you still get panics in Safe Mode...it rules out third party software and associated components like kext files.

That leaves the next most common culprits:
  • RAM (on machines with upgradable RAM)
  • OS problems
It is possible there is some other hardware issue, but that is less likely. So...if you still get panics in Safe Mode, you could reinstall the OS from recovery mode. A good idea to back up the machine before doing this, even though it is a low risk procedure.

You could also look at RAM, especially if it has ever been changed/upgraded.

What OS are you running now? Depending on the Mac, you might consider updating the OS too. Does it have a HD or SSD? Outside chance a failing HD might cause issues too.
