I'll keep it brief, please ask follow up questions if needed to answer this:

If you're a 2016 MBP 15" owner/user, is the Trackpad size something that annoys you/ bothers you enough to tell others to avoid getting the the new MBP 2016 15"?

Having only seen about a thousand reviews, I still couldn't say if it would be too annoying to me. I think the trackpad is too big just by looking at it, also aesthetically it looks just plain ugly sitting there taking up almost all the wrist space. At the same time I couldn't say if it is too annoying?

Yep. I just got mine a couple of weeks ago and really enjoy the bigger track pad. It felt too big to start with, but I quickly adapted and when I went back to my old Macbook retina it felt cramped.

It works really well, don't even notice the size after a while. You need to look at the MacBook for what it is, its a laptop. A larger trackpad can only ever be a good thing for dragging or using the multi touch functions.

The laptop is not a bad looking bit of kit, and yes the large trackpad does look strange if you look at it, but I'm not spending the price of a MacBook Pro just for the look, its the functionality which is the most important thing!

I have only 13" but I notice no problems what-so-ever.

@Adergaard Do you have small hands? My advice is to tape over part of it to make it smaller...

I absolutely love the new trackpad. The only thing I hate about it is that my 2016 15" is my personal machine and when I have to use my work machine 2014 15" I'm stuck with a tiny trackpad.

There are some threads here with complaints about the larger trackpad, but it is helpful for larger gestures, not having to pick your finger up and start again to move the cursor, and finer control. Those who have trouble with unintended clicks can turn off tap to click. If they still have trouble, they can adjust the firmness for clicking. If that doesn't work either, well there are some for whom the trackpad isn't so great, but most of us like it bigger.

If I could, I'd make it slightly narrower.

For me it's reached a point where I not only don't need it so big, but I wish it was just a touch narrower to be a bit more out of the way and not so directly under hand.

The width of the trackpad on the 12" is perfect for me personally. I really like to have dead space below and around the arrow keys and the left CMD key (both places I'm at a lot with my hands - there arrow keys I especially like space for my thumb, which catches the trackpad all the time on the 15")

See images for comparison (compare to the keyboard keys)

I had a 2016 15" and decided to trade for a 2016 13" for better portability and the touchpad on the 15" was great, no palm issues or anything. Best one I've ever used. Oddly, I have had trouble with the 13" with the pointer jumping and not registering clicks.

Do you thing it is an issue with that particular trackpad? Or do you think it is a result of holding your hands/palms in a different position on the 13" vs 15" ?

I missed being able to rest my fingers in between the top of the trackpad and below the space bar, but other than that I was rather ambivalent about it's hugeness. Didn't really add much value for me. And I even use better touch tool with custom gestures.
