Hello, I have problem with mouse lags on MBP 2018 with external display.
I use now Yiiama 5K 27" display, but it also occured with old Dell 4K display. I used USB-C <-> DisplayPort cable to connect monitor, resolution, rehresh rate etc. - everything is ok.

But sometimes, especially after night or some inactivity (computer sleeps), there are a mouse lags on display - everything is ok, but about every 4-6 seconds there is small lag, and then again ok... again lag etc. It's not only on mouse, I can also use touchpad to for example, make "circles" on display, and there is the same problem.

Solution is to disconnect external display for few seconds (10-15), then connect again - lag disappear. Of course I can also reboot Mac, but it's stupid.

Do anyone know other, permanent solution for such issue?

I'm yet to find a fix to this problem ever since the 2015 13" retina MacBook Pro... The only monitors that don't have trouble with this so far at my home are those who directly connect via USB-C

I have this on my 2014 MBP but don't have it on my 2015 MBP but the 2015 has a Discrete GPU. I get lost frames watching some video as well.

I've been doing a small test since yesterday - just disabled automatic graphics switching in settings.
It's been good since then, no laggs, no requirement to disconnect and connect again - will test also today.

But... it's not good solution, because if we are without power connection, drains battery quickly.
MacOS should have option to force use Intel on battery power, Nvidia Optimus on Windows is much better.

Yep, can confirm - if automatic graphics switching is disabled, issue doesn't occur.
If enabled, sometimes it is.
