I've had this MBP since September 2020, running Big Sur 11.2.3.
Now in the past few days the bottom of unit is feeling extra hot ~ which has not happened previously. What could be the issue, anyone?

Also my battery icon states: power source: power adapter 1 hr, 14 mins until fully charged.
Using significant energy ~ Safari.

Could these issues be related. The battery icon looks unusual.
Thanks for any input.

There are some VP9 settings in Safari that you might try. I have dual graphics cards on my Retina MacBook Pro and I also needed to make sure that dynamic switching was enabled. This may not be an issue for you, but it sure was for me and it made my rMBP run a lot cooler. Good Luck!

go back to Mojave/Catalina, it is best option.

don't waste time to investigate any way to get around on Big Sur.

I appreciate your reply ~ however I don't understand what you are suggesting I do to fix my issue. Still running hot even though I only have one program running.

Thanks again, Lucy
