MBP: ADC vs .edu purchase warranties?

I have questions about the ADC Student discount and warranty/support. I read that the ADC purchase only comes with a one year warranty standard for a MacBook Pro (in the USA).

1. Can you purchase 3 years of Applecare when you buy the MBP through ADC?
2. Can you apply a separate, later purchase of Applecare to your ADC purchased product?
3. If I have an ADC macbook pro with or without extra applecare, can I simply take it into an Apple store at any time and ask for a "mac genius" to fix something?
4. If I need to do a warranty return for a repair, can I do it through a store (maybe if I bought applecare?), or must it always be done sending it back via RMA / mail?

Gah, okay, I missed it before but I just answered #1 myself (yes). I wonder if I can buy a MBP with ADC Student discount and then immediately buy a separate .edu applecare plan and apply it to that MBP. That would save ~$110.

All Macs come with 1 year hardware warranty standard, regardless of which store (regular, edu, ADC, reseller) you purchase it from

1. Yes, you can buy Apple Care for ADC purchases. In fact, Apple Care is an option under the configuration.
2. Yes, you can purchase Apple Care later. But be sure to purchase and register Apple Care before the standard one-year warranty on your Mac is over.
3. Yes
4. Either way that is most convenient for you. Keep in mind, for extensive repairs, the Apple Store may have to send it to the repair depot.

Check online to see if other places sell Apple Care for even cheaper than the edu store. And even if it is the same price as edu, you can save on not paying taxes.

I personally would avoid EBay for Apple Care, but others have recommended it - but if you EBay, make sure it is a sealed box you are buying.
