Ok, today i recieved my incredible mbp, i must say it is extremely sleek, the best laptop money can buy without a doubt.

Just one problem, THE BUZZ IS DRIVING ME CRAZY!! Within 20 min of playing with my mbp i already had a headache and I knew I had to call apple. They offered to replace my mbp with a new one without any guarantee that the new one will come without a buzz or whine and having to wait another 2 to three weeks!! They also offered to repair it free of charge so I told them that I would prefer for them to repair the problem that is causing the buzz. Here I am typing on my mbp which I have been waiting for more than a month and waiting for apple to send me a box to ship them my mbp. My question is this, has anyone gone through this process? What exactly did they repair and does it still make this noise? They said it would take aprox 5 to 10 buisiness days to repair and have back home, are these estimates accurate? They told me they would ship the computer to austin texas so atleast it isnt leaving the country.

Aside from this extremely annoying buzz this computer is incredible. Coming from a 12 powerbook g4 and 17 powerbook g4 this has improved in everything. For example right now I am picking up about 10 wifi connections I couldnt pick up with my other computers. And where I had a very low signal now I have full bars!!

Thanks, I would appreciate everybodies comments regarding this subject.

Forgot to mention, this rediculously annoying ear breaking noise shuts up as soon as I click photobooth ans have the isight on. This is so wierd...

i have that buzzing noise too... i just open comic life then close it and the buzzing goes away until you open photo booth

Veryyy dammm interesting, I just tryed that out and my buzz dissapearad!! Will I have to do this every time I boot up or what? Still do you think I should get this repaired? Just opened photobooth and the buzz started again. Do you guys think that this is software related and not hardware? I read somwhere that this buzz could be fixed with a software update soon, how true is this? I really dont think I should be having to go through this after dishing out 2100 usd...

I think many of us are experiencing the same type of noise, just at different levels of noise. I use the Mirror Widget from time to time. I will wait a while before I send it in as I know many people will be doing that as well.

Best of luck to you. my MBP specs in my sig and I paid 2,700 (student discount + warranty)

I understand that many people are sending it in, it just isnt acceptable. Anybody send theres in yet and get it fixed and is now happy with their mbp?

One more thing I have noticed with my mbp, the trackpad button doesnt click smoothly, it has like one light click and then the real click and when I press it a bit harder I hear a bit of a noise, should I let apple know about this two?

yeah, I would.

If you really can't handle it, turn off the extra core. That's been noted to stop the whining.

I shouldnt have to recurr to these things in order to use my MBP correctly. This is somthing that should not occur in a 2000$ machine!! Has anybody had any experience in shipping theirs in for this problem and having it resolved??

Is there really a need to post back to back? Why not try the edit feature? That said my MPB makes the noise too, but only whens its been outside in the cold. After that it goes away, so no real complaints for me.

Maybe ppl dont want to reply because there have been a garillion threads about this problem already.
You have applecare? Use it.

(Mod edit: clean-up)

Do I have applecare? Yes we all do for 90 days free. This topic has been discussed but my question has not been answered anywhere, I dont think you read my post.

My question is, has anyone successfully sent in their MBP for repair for this cpu whine and recieved it working and without the buzz?

Not only is this interesting for me but it could be very interesting for anyone with the whine that drives them crazy.

As I wait for the box to send it in, I am using those tricks that were posted, but I honestly do not see why I should have to go through that every time I want to use my 2000$ laptop. I expect nothing less than perfect for that price, keep in mind that my previous powerbooks were both SILENT so this problem really gets in between my ears.

Please don't bump your thread simply because no one is posting, it may be that no-one has the answer to your question or they are not yet online.
