I received a Macbook Pro, 200gb, 3gb HDD 15 inch almost two weeks ago (two weeks Thursday). Is there anything that can be done for me at this point. I'm kind of ticked off because Apple had actually jacked me around for a month with repairs and screwed up MBP (SuperDrive problems). I'm actually kind of mad that it gets updated. I really could have used the LCD and GPU boost. Any ideas or thoughts? Thanks!

If you had first received it two weeks ago, and you have a valid receipt proving it arrived at that time, then you can ask for a free upgrade. If you received your machine after sending it in for repairs, then no, Apple will tell you to get lost.

It sounds like you received a replacement for a warrantied unit? If so, I'm not certain the 2-week return period is still valid.

This is a brand new unit they shipped to me. I received it two weeks ago. It is a customized unit. Would that make a difference?

Well, I think the BTO options still have a two week return period. So if you're within two weeks, take it in and ask for an exchange. They may try to hit you with the 10% restocking fee though.

yeah it does.they don't take back customized units. I think you're out of luck.

BTO units are non-returnable.

Since this appears to simply be a replacement for a dead machine with a purchase date well before this update, you'll likely have a hard time getting them to upgrade you. Can't hurt to ring them up and ask though.
