Someone on the Applenova boards commented that Quanta manufactures the MBP as well as DELL laptops. If accurate, Apple has a high volume manufacturing partner. Why then does it take so long for shipment??? The dual core DELLS and others are available for shipping now without delay. Beyond the logic board and case, many of the components are stock "off the shelf" items that other manufacturers appear to have access to.
It really raises the question about Apple's ability - as an organization - to scale itself to Steve's vision. Here we are 6 weeks after the announcement and we are still dealing with virtually no supply for purchase at stores and 4 more weeks on new orders - makes you wonder.
