Hi guys,

I noticed something really strange: Since the 12.3.1 Update of Monterey I would find my MacBook Pro 16" (24GPUs) at a state of 80% when I woke it up at the morning - even though it was hooked up to Apples 140W MagSafe Charger.
Right now I am sitting on front of my machine and seeing how the battery is constantly dropping even though the charger is plugged in (look at the screenshot)

I know it's in German but basically it says that it is charging via the charger and that charging the battery has been stopped (which is OK I guess), but why is the battery getting drained when the Mac is supposedly sipping it's enegery from the wire and not the battery?

Anybody else is noticing this behaviour?

PS: Dropped just another 1% while writing this..

Check System Preferences > Battery > Battery. You probably have Optimized battery charging selected, which aims to keep the battery at around 80% if you keep it plugged in most of the time. It turns the light on the MagSafe plug orange when it's working that way.
