Hi I have MBP 17 CD I'm having problems with the battery I have 45 battery cycles and when it reaches 40% charge the computer shuts down. I'm aware of the MacBook Pro Battery Update and I think I qualify for a battery replacement.

Right now I'm charging my computer but the LED in the power adapter blinks green/orange, Is this normal? I remember that it stayed ambar until it was fully charged and then turned green. Is this because of the battery? or the power adapter is acting up too?

Thanks

It really sounds like a dodgy battery. Take it back as soon as you can. :)

I'd add on to that, if you can, don't even use it.

With all the horror stories of exploding batteries these days, the last thing you want is for your battery to explode, which would obviously cause even more problems with your laptop (broken screen, hard drive, ram, motherboard, etc..;) )

P.S. If you only use it off wall power without a battery in it, it will run slower. This is done to prevent the computer from drawing more power then the power supply can handle and shutting down
