I was hoping someone could tell me if this was "normal" or if it looks like a problem.

I have a 2019 MBP.
In Sept 2021 I got the battery replaced (under Applecare) as it had dropped to below 80% capacity.
The "new" battery is now down to 77% capacity after around 14 months of use and a reported 160 cycles.

Is this normal?
What's the (UK) warranty on the battery replacement? Would I be charged for a second battery replacement (now it's outside of the 3 years Applecare)?

It only lasts between 1-2 hours while not plugged in which seems awful!

They'll probably want you to pay for the replacement.

I don't know what the charge is in the UK.
In the USA it's $199.

Actually, not a bad deal, considering that you get
- a new Apple labeled battery
- installation
- a short warranty.

If you intend to keep it much longer, probably worth the cost...

Not normal. My battery is still at 99%. I would take this as an opportunity to trade it in for a new M2 MBP.

Thanks both. I'm reluctant to pay for another new battery when the previous one only lasted about a year. That seems to suggest a bigger problem.

Now I'm wondering if to hold out for the year and get a new M3 MBP next year or to give up on it now for an M2!

If you are going to hold out for the M3 MBP you might as well hold out for the M4 MBP.

OR...... you can just get the M2 MBP which was just released today.....

Yeah. I hadn't planned to upgrade until at least next year and I'm not sure a crappy battery is enough to justify it. I do see your point though!
