After scrubbing my head a lot of times wondering why sometimes i got ****** performance and sometimes great performance i noticed that on windows vista, no matter what my battery/settings are... Games have much more fps and are much more fluid with both battery and ac adaptor on.

I can understand why I get bad performance with only the battery.. but shouldn't the ac adaptor provide enough power for the computer run at full speed?

I often take my battery off since most of times i'm always plugged... not anymore because of games and probably general performance.

Well to answer you question on why you get better performance with both the battery and the AC power is because at peak power demands that AC power adapter can not supply enough power so it pulls the the extra it requires from the battery.

Also not the best idea to run you MB with out the battery in it. It is not good for the computer because the AC power adapter is set up to provide a constated flow of power and not have to adjust to the changing power demands of a computer. That is the batteries job. It strains all parts involved.
