Just wondering what everyone’s experience is of the black aluminium keyboard recess’s durability on the MacBook Pro’s, does it chip easily, is the black paint coming off? Thanks

Considering that the coating is of low quality, it will wear off after 3-5 years of active use.

What’s your basis for this comment? I’ve not seen any reports of this coating being low quality or wearing off. The oldest machines with it are only just two years old.

Google the pictures or ask the repairmen, you'll see what we're talking about.

To be fair the reason I asked is because I did see a post on Reddit where a users black coating is starting come off, not sure if this is a common thing as it is the one and only post I could find with this issue and only one comment saying they are noticing the same thing

"The keyboard is set in a double-anodized black well..."

It's not paint. Anodized coatings can be chipped off and wear, though... My launch day 14" MBP from 2021 has zero signs of wear.
