Hi all,

Could someone tell me what is the best to use to connect my MBP to my TV which has HDMI, mini-DVI and S-Video ports...? i am about to buy the HDMI to S-Video port but if there is a significant quality diff using HDMI/HDMI or HDMI/mini-DVI i would consider it as well...

Also when you get the MBP there is a HDMI/VGA cable but wtf is this...the lenght is so ridiculous that i wonder who and how you can use it????

Thx

The adapter that comes with MBP's is a DVI/VGA adapter for external monitors.

Yes i figured this out...but my point was the menght to short making the cable unusable...

What about my first question anyone has the clue what is best?

Note that it is not a HDMI to VGA adapter. It is a DVI to VGA adapter.

Well the monitors come with a VGA cable on its own, with a VGA male port. The MBP came with an adapter which has a female port. Even if it was 6ft long, it would have been pretty useless as you won't be able to plug it in the monitor.

I think that the length is just right- it provides a VGA port where you can plug the monitor's VGA in.

Since your TV has three different input ports (HDMI/MiniDVI/S-Vid) which format are you planning to use?
