Using 10.12

Someone plugged an external drive into my MBP to use my computer/Handbrake to quickly render a file, and shortly afterwards, my computer crashed with an internal error that I have never seen before. I do not think the person did anything malicious, though I am concerned/paranoid that his drive could have been infected with something? What can I do to scan/check the drive to ensure it is not infected with something?

Thanks.

I wasn't able to open the Show Details button...it was frozen.

Looks like some kind of Finder bug. I've seen it every now and then, mostly in beta versions of macOS. I wouldn't worry too much about it.
