Mbp & Doom 3

Question. Will DOOM 3 play on a current Mac Book Pro 15.4" with the 2.33 core 2 duo and 2 gb ram. The reason I ask is for DOOM 3 the minimum system requirements list an 8x drive and the 15.4" only comes with a 6x. Thanks!

8x is the "READ" speed. The 6x you are seeing the double-layer DVD "WRITE" speed. If that was the only spec that was iffy you shouldn't have any problems!

coledog is corect. The specs are:
Maximum read: 8x DVD-ROM, DVD-R, DVD+R; 6x DVD-ROM (double layer DVD-9), DVD+RW, DVD-RW; 4x DVD+R DL (double layer); 24x CD
