Hello everyone, thank you for taking the time to read this thread. I have been using my MBP for several months now. And for some reason it slows down quite significantly to the point where even opening a tab on safari/finder will require a few seconds and the pinwheel will show.

I was previously using an older 2012 MacBook Air, and even then I did not experience the level of lagging that I am currently experiencing. Please advice. I have performed an Etrecheck and included the results below.

Thank you in advance for your help.

EtreCheck version: 3.4.2 (436)

Why don't you just reinstall the operating system and start over from scratch? Put a fresh copy of OS X on that computer and call it a day. You'll save lots of time and aggravation trying to diagnose this problem.

Another thing to try (that hurts nothing, changes nothing with your original account):

Go to the Users & Groups preference pane, and create a NEW account.
Give it administrative privileges, and a name and password easy to remember (not the same as your "regular" account).

Then -- restart.
Log into the new, temporary account.
Look around, try some applications.
Has anything changed?

Memory clean 2? You really do not need to run any 3rd party memory manager on a Mac. MacOS does great job managing memory on it's own.
