Hello,

I have a new 17 inch C2d stock MBP and up until this morning it has worked beautifully. But when I arrived @ work today I plug it in and it just sits on the Apple logo with the spinning thing on the boot screen for roughly 3 minutes, then it goes to the blue screen and the lil spinner comes back up, 2-3 minutes later I get a mouse cursor and have contorl over it, but no desktop comes up at all.

I have tried force rebooting by holding the power button down until it turns off then turning it back on.

Any suggestions of what this may be or what I Can do to solve the issue?

you can try starting ur laptop holding the SHIFT key to start in 'safe boot' if it goes better then naybe you have some 'startup items/ apps' that are messing up with your sytem, did you install new apps lately? of course you can try repairing permissions but i don't think it'll help., can you get the desktop at all?? you can try also starting in single user, holding 'S' key at startup, and type fsck -y to run some disk check, type reboot to start up normally when finished.:D
