my MBP that i got a week ago gets really hot...like i expected...but i still havent heard the fan turn on yet...maybe its just because im use to my loud powerbook, but than again i dont feel any air coming out the back of it...also, istat nano or any other temperature widget isnt detecting the internal temperature...just shows blank...im thinking applecare

I'm thinking you're right. This is purely speculative, but I'm guessing your temperature sensors are faulty and therefore the laptop has no idea that it needs to turn on the fan.
If it's a 17", check Apple's download page. They have a recently posted download for 17" MBP fan behavior.
