If you have a MBA for on-the-go, then a 15" would be best for home. Bigger screen and more power than the 13" model, but still easy to move around with. The 17" model is really a desktop replacement.
I agree with the previous poster, the best go for you would be an iMac as you already have a portable computer. Plus, you can hook up your air to your iMac if you ever felt the need to do so.
I would say iMac as well. More value, especially since you already have the MBA for everywhere but home.
iMac wasn't an option, and likely for good reason ... for example the OP may not want to be tied to his desk by any computer ... makes sense to me.
I'd suggest two options
a) your 11" MBA and a new 15" MBP, (17" too big for anywhere but a table/desk)
or
b) by a new 13" MBA and use it for all your work, easier than juggling two machines. You could use external HD's for back up, or if you needed an always on computer at home get a mac mini or the iMac's suggestions above would work.
I love my 11" MBA probably my favorite notebook so far, but I admit I'm far more productive on my 13" MBA. The 13" is not quite as amazing to use on my lap or arm of a couch, table, car, cafe or desk as my 11" is. It's still very very portable and for many the max'd out 13" MBA could likely serve as a full time computer.

If your MBA is enough from the performance perspective, I would just get an external monitor and dock while at home.
What are your needs? The 13" isn't much more powerful than the 13" MacBook Air, so if you looking for something with more horsepower for when you don't need the portability, I'd guess that it would be either the 15" or 17" at this point. That might change after the next refresh, but for now they are the only ones with the Core i5 or i7 and a discrete GPU.

I agree. Both of my Mac laptops that preceded the MBA were 17 inch models, a Powerbook G4 and a Santa Rosa MBP respectively. When the time comes to buy a new computer, there is a strong likelihood that it will be another 17 inch MBP, this time with an i7 chip, or whatever processor Apple is offering by the time I buy, and a high resolution matte screen.
I think highly of the iMac series but it is not for me. I don't like to be tethered to a desk when I am working on a computer. I prefer instead to be able to move around at will. A 17 inch MBP is much larger and exponentially heavier than the MBA, of course, but at 6.6 pounds an MBP is still light enough to be easily moved without risking a hernia.
